Abstract
Abstract
Swift is the new language to write apps for the iPhone, iPad and Mac. It can even be used to write for Android and .NET. In this session, we’ll do a language intro while writing the basics of an iPhone app using Swift, and have a look into:
- Should I use Swift or Objective-C?
- What new best practices can we learn from Swift
- What’s this about unboxing optionals?
- What’s this about functional?
- Mixing and matching Swift, Objective-C, C, C++
If any of this sounds scary or interesting, you should absolutely come. No prior iOS development experience, Objective-C experience or Swift experience needed. All that is required is that you have done some kind of programming.
Niklas has a Cand. Scient degree in Software Engineering from the University of Oslo, and has a Candidate degree in Early Music from Syddansk Musikkonservatorium, and has 17 years of professional software development behind him to date.
