Abstract

Abstract
Four new specs are on their way through the W3C standardization process that will radically change the way we build web applications. The four specs are Templates, Custom Elements, Shadow DOM, and HTML Imports - under one referred to as Web Components.
Web Components are natively supported in Chrome, partly implemented in Firefox, and work through a polyfill in all evergreen browsers.

On top of Web Components, Google is building a new web framework called Polymer. This makes working with Web Components even easier without loosing compatibility with ‘vanilla’ Web Components (or other well behaved frameworks).
