Abstract

The GOTO software developers conferences from around the world now proudly presents, a second geeknight due to popular demand. Watch and learn from the best in the business.

Signup now as there is a limited number of seats. We usually head out for a beer after the event so keep a window open for networking as well.

The evening will be divided in two different talks of aprox. 1 hour. Here's the speakers abstract for their talks:

Eberhard Wolff:

"Java in the Cloud - PaaS Platform in Comparison"
Eberhard Wolff introduces Cloud Computing, IaaS/PaaS, comparing the Java support provided by Google GAE, Amazon Beanstalk, VMware Cloud Foundry, and Cloud Bees.

Eberhard Wolff works as Architecture & Technology Manager for Adesso AG in Germany

Alexander Schwartz:

"How to Introduce Continuous Delivery"
A lot of companies are aiming to introduce Continuous Delivery and DevOps — which can be quite challenging. Alex shares his experiences on how to do so, what can help, and what does not help.

Alex has more than 20 years of experiences in the industry, mainly as a developer. Over the last 5 years his bread and butter has been from helping Software teams to deliver to production faster.
Alex is working at Nokia Location & Commerce, Berlin as Agile/Lean Coach and Head of Places Delivery, a DevOps team. He introduced Continuous Delivery to Nokia in Berlin, covering the RESTful services which deliver places shown on Nokia Maps. Before this he led the release management of an eBay company and helped to replace stressful big bang releases.

After the talks we will have drinks at the local bar, provided by the organizers.
