17.00 – 17.30: Welcome and drinks

17.30 – 18.00: Stand-up session on Implementing Push Notifications for iPhone by Joost van de Wijgerd from eBuddy
eBuddy is a company that provides Instant Messaging (IM) to millions of people worldwide. eBuddy supports multiple IM networks (including MSN,YAHOO and Facebook) across a range of clients (including J2ME, Android and iPhone). Recently eBuddy has successfully launched an iPhone client that supports Push Notifications. The talk will focus on the architecture of the eBuddy platform in general and the Push Server component in particular. Joost van de Wijgerd is backend Architect @ eBuddy.

18.30 – 19.00: Stand-up session on Software Transactional Memory by Peter Veentjer
STM's are getting more and more momentum. In this session some of the basic concepts of STM's will be explained without going in too deep on the technical content and language specific details. The basic concepts include: failure atomicity, isolation but also lesser but equal important concepts like the retry/orelse mechanism.
